An Estate Planning Invite

An Estate Planning Invite

June 10, 2025
Estate planning is one of the most neglected aspects of an overall financial plan that I commonly see.  You would be shocked at how many people that I talk to that do not have a basic will.  I understand it.  We do not like thinking or talking about death.  But without a well thought out and implemented estate plan, we may leave our family with chaos and sometimes, unnecessary expense, in an already difficult and emotional time.
Next Tuesday, June 17th at 12:00 PM, we will be hosting a lunch and learn on estate planning at the office.  The luncheon is designed to define the basics of estate planning and to prepare you for your initial meeting with your attorney.
Topics include:
What happens if you die without a will
The probate process
Choosing your team, the lawyer, CPA and financial advisor
Preparing to meet with your attorney
The net worth statement
Choosing your executor
Basic legal documents: Will, Power Of Attorney, Living Will, Trusts
Designating beneficiaries, do's and don'ts
Preparing and paying for your funeral
Life Insurance, do you need it?
What happens to my IRA?
The Estate Tax
Question and Answer
You may think, "I've got a will, I'm in good shape."  As we all know, laws and circumstances do change.  During my career, I have seen wills written decades ago that did more damage than good because they were not updated.  So whether you have an estate plan or not, this brief luncheon will get you on the path to having your family adequately prepared.
If you would like to attend, please give us a call (731-285-0097) to save your seat(s).  Space is limited to sixteen.  If you can not attend, but would like to schedule a one-on-one meeting to discuss this topic, please call to schedule a time to discuss.
We hope to see you there!  Until next time, Cheers!
